Meet Achmadun Habibullah, our Chief of Engineering, who plays a key role in ensuring the technical excellence and successful delivery of Granitor’s industrial automation projects.
● Background
Achmadun Habibullah, or Abi, is the Chief of Engineering at Granitor Systems APAC, responsible for maintaining engineering quality, standards, and solution reliability across projects.
● Career Journey at Granitor
With an academic background in Engineering Physics, Abi began his career as an automation engineer and continuously grew within the organization. His journey led to his appointment as Lead Engineer in 2024 and later as Chief of Engineering in early 2026.
● Most Memorable Project
One of the most memorable projects for Abi was the Pyradia Control Upgrade at PT General Electric, as it was his first project as an engineer. The experience played an important role in shaping his understanding of real-world project execution and engineering responsibility.
● Key Technical Challenges & Problem-Solving Approach
Abi sees one of the main challenges in industrial automation as ensuring systems operate in line with the defined control philosophy. To address this, he emphasizes strong project preparation, clear documentation, and a calm, root-cause-focused approach to problem-solving, enabling more accurate and sustainable solutions.
● Building a Strong Engineering Team
For Abi, a strong team is built through shared vision and standardized competencies to ensure consistency, quality, and long-term reliability within the organization.
● Developing Engineering Talent
Abi supports skill development by first understanding the needs of each team member through assessments. He then aligns those needs with structured development programs to support both individual and team growth.
● Lessons Learned
One of the most valuable lessons Abi has learned throughout his career is simple yet profound; understand the problem first, then think about the solution.
● Message for Young Engineers
Abi encourages young engineers to be brave in exploring and trying new things in industrial automation, especially in practical applications. Real learning comes from hands-on experience and continuous curiosity.
“Keep learning and keep growing.”
