Technical Workshops Mark Kick-off of NuCC Remote Operation Development at Koto Panjang, Sawitto, and Balla

The Development of the Remote Operation System for Nusantara Control Center (NuCC) has commenced for PLTA Koto Panjang, PLTM Sawitto, and PLTM Balla. Commissioned by PT PLN Suku Cadang and implemented for PT PLN Nusantara Power as the end user, the project is delivered by Granitor Systems APAC as system integrator.
The project began with a series of technical workshops, aimed at validating and aligning critical system designs before entering the engineering phase. These workshops covered:
- System Architecture – defining how PLTA Koto Panjang, PLTM Sawitto, and PLTM Balla will be integrated and operated remotely through the NuCC.
- Communication Topology – establishing secure two-way communication between each plant’s control system and the NuCC SCADA platform, including historian data streaming and command transmission.
- SCADA Dashboard and Data Mapping – designing visualization functions, alarms, sequence of events (SOE), historian trending, and reporting to support real-time monitoring and operational excellence.
Following the workshops, the project will advance into system engineering, software programming, functional testing, and commissioning, before concluding with hands-on training for PLN Nusantara Power engineers.
Once operational, the NuCC will enable remote, centralized, and efficient operation of PLTA Koto Panjang, PLTM Sawitto, and PLTM Balla — reinforcing PLN’s commitment to reliability, efficiency, and sustainable digital transformation in the energy sector.
