Automated solution for picking oral hygiene products

The customer was looking for an automated solution for picking toothbrushes from pallets and placing them in blisters. The toothbrushes came in unsorted colors and the solution should therefore identify the color to place them in the desired combinations.

To solve this and achieve the current cycle time and some redundancy, we used a color sensor that was integrated with PLC and 2 KR6 robots from KUKA equipped with specially developed grippers.
